MEET THE PT TRAVELER AND HIS WIFE

Who am I and what brought me here?

Greetings, fellow travelers! My name is Adam Schwent, I’m a travel physical therapist and creator of the Trails of a Travel PT blog. For a brief insight into my background, I grew up in Ste. Genevieve, MO, a small rural town ~1hr south of St. Louis, MO. In my college years, I attended Missouri State University for both undergrad and grad school, receiving degrees in Exercise and Movement Science and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Throughout PT school, I had the privilege to travel across the country on several different clinical rotations. These experiences paired with a childhood filled with countless cross-country family vacations were the fuel that ignited my desire to become a travel physical therapist.

Upon graduating in the middle of a pandemic in May 2020, I decided to pursue those dreams and I’ve been traveling ever since. I have been very fortunate to experience new places, environments, and experiences. I have a love for seeking new adventures and exploring this beautiful planet and all it has to offer. Therefore, I want to share those experiences with you all and hope to educate those of you who wish to seek out this adventure too! Sign up for our Newsletter to follow along my journey as a PT traveler.

Who is my travel partner?

I travel with my lovely wife, Paige Schwent, who also grew up in Ste. Genevieve, MO. We conquered high school together as best friends, became high school sweethearts, and eventually fell madly in love our senior year. We got married in May 2018 and have been together ever since. Paige attended culinary school and played volleyball at East Central College in Union, MO. After graduation, Paige moved to Springfield, MO, to live with me and took on the breadwinner responsibilities by managing a local bakery for 5 years while I finished PT school. Her creativity, flexibility, and organizational skills have greatly contributed to the lifestyle required of a traveler.

Similarly, Paige is just as much of an adventure seeker as I am. Her hopes are one day to settle down and open her very own bakery. Meanwhile, I don’t think she minds traveling the world. Paige and I are on a mission to visit every National Park in the U.S. and all that lies between them. Moreover, if you’d like to know more about Paige and what she does to financially help out on the road please feel free to contact us.
