GETTING STARTED WITH TRAVEL PT

There are multiple steps to be taken before landing your first contract as a travel PT. The first is deciding if this is the career path you wish to take. Some will say getting a travel job as a new grad is hard, but I think otherwise. If you’re serious about this adventure, prepared yourself in undergrad, and are flexible when starting out then you’ll have no problem getting your foot in the door. Once you’re committed to travel PT, finding a recruiter you can trust, that you jive well with, and has a valuable reputation is one of the most important steps in your journey. After that, landing the job with a great interview will help you seal the deal into an epic and adventurous travel therapy career.

TRAVEL THERAPY HOUSING

One of the biggest challenges we face when traveling is finding affordable housing in the location we want, while providing us with the furniture we need. For the first year of our travels, we stayed in Airbnb’s, hotels, Furnished Finders, and short terms apartment complexes. And now for the past 5 years, we have traveled in our RV. There are pros and cons to all, but hopefully these articles can help you give some insight into what’s best for you!

LICENSING TIPS

The most common questions I get from future travel physical therapists are questions related to the licensure process. Whether that’s regarding what state to take the board exams in, what states are accepted in the PT Compact, or how long the licensing process takes when you land a new contract in a different state. All valid questions that can get quite confusing for an outsider. These articles will help breakdown all of those questions and more.

Becoming a travel PT can be a smooth and rewarding journey. All you need is a mentor in your corner who can provide you with accurate information for real-life scenarios. I’m here to help you in launching your travel therapy career, so if you require additional guidance on how to begin, seek a reputable recruiter to collaborate with, or have any other inquiries related to travel PT, please CONTACT ME, and let’s embark on this exciting adventure together!
